Second Florida Cavalry

Lieutenant Colonel Abner McCormick commanded 202 men from the Second Florida Cavalry at Olustee. Part of the regiment, including the company commanded by Captain John J. Dickinson, was not present during the engagement. The regiment protected the Confederate right flank, and at one point a portion was dismounted and stopped a Union effort to turn the flank. The Second Cavalry suffered no known losses during the battle.
